A Teenager at last........

Today Alex turns 13. He is entering the next stage in life, oh puberty. I remember when I first met Alex he was only 4 at the time. He loved to play jedi's with me and called me Sarajane Watson. I loved it. Over the past 9 years he has grown so much. He has turned into a great student, athlete, brother, and most of all a wonderful son.
He comes home on Sunday the 4th of July for summer break! We can't wait to see him! We have missed him a lot and the girls too! It will be awesome to finally get to spend some quality time with him!
I have to say that even though I am not his "real mom", I love him just as much as I would if I was.
Happy Birthday to our little man who turned into a teenager today!!!!!

6 months already.....

It seemed like just yesterday Gracie was learning how to walk and talk. Now she is running circles around Lucie. I love how much they are bonding. My babies are getting bigger. Today Lu-Lu (as Daddy calls her) turned 6 months old. She is trying to sit up on her own and is on the verge of crawling already. We find it very entertaining to watch her roll all over the livingroom playing with her toys. She loves to watch her big sister and her cousin Liam. Her eyes are so blue, and we are thinking she is going to have sandy blonde hair. I am super glad that she looks like me. Gracie looks like her Daddy and her big brother Alex so much it's uncanny.

I love to watch her explore things and discover new toys to put in her mouth. She's working on getting a tooth but no sign of it yet. Just lots and lots of slobber and a little crabbiness. One of her new favorite things to do is roll over to our sliding glass door curtains and smack them with her hand. She's holding her own bottle for the most part and is a very good eater. We are thinking she will start stage 2 foods after her 6 month check up on Friday. Can't wait to see how big she is!!

Almost over!

I know RJ loves coaching but this year has been really hard. With two little ones that keep us extremely busy having Daddy away at practice 3 nights a week then 2 games a week was starting to wear on us girls. This week is the end of the baseball season. I have to say that I am very happy it will be over so we can finally relax (a little) and enjoy the time we have with the girls. Everyday they are both doing so many new things. Before long Lucie will be crawling . I can't wait for that! But we want to go camping, fishing, and swimming this summer and try to enjoy what is left of it. So goodbye little league (for this year) and welcome summertime!

It all started...

in junior high when I asked RJ to be my boyfriend! We dated on and off in 7th grade and then went our seperate ways. We both dated other people throughout high school but a couple years after high school we met up and decided to try it again. Six months later we were engaged, a year and a half after that we were married on July 26, 2003. We always knew we wanted a big family. We started off with RJ's son Alex from a previous marriage. He was 6 when we got married. We tried to have a baby right away but no such luck. We tried fertility drugs and all of that and it still didn't work. After 4 1/2 years of trying I decided to have a gastric bypass. 10 months later and 138 pounds less, we got pregnant!! Best day of our lives!! 9 months later we were blessed with a little girl whom we named Gracie Jane Vodenik! She was born November 4, 2008. I always said I wanted kids by the time I was 30, she was born 2 days after my 30th birthday!!! Several months went by and Gracie was just starting to crawl when we got another surprise, yep we were pregnant again. A little sooner than we had planned but a blessing none the less. 9 months later Lucie Louise Vodenik entered our world December 28, 2009. 3 days after Christmas but she was still our bundle of joy!

Where it all began.......
